Actually, that picture is from the International Departures area at Pearson, but I like the sculpture, and it was part of this trip.
I arrived home Tuesday evening after an uneventful flight. Wednesday, being the last day of the month and the last day of the 3rd quarter, was GST and paying-of-bills day. I also did a fair bit of archiving and cleanup on my workstation, as I was down to about 10GB free on the 120GB drive. I got concerned when the computer apparently wouldn't boot Tuesday evening. I did my accounting in Safe Mode, then upon restarting the system Wednesday morning I realised that it was fine after all, just the main monitor had switched to the alternate signal feed. I must have been more tired than I thought on Tuesday!
I had purchased my business partner's HP 4700 Pocket PC http://the-gadgeteer.com just before this trip. He wasn't using it, and I missed being able to carry lots of books with me to read wherever I wanted. I loaded it up with all the Fictionwise http://www.fictionwise.com books I have purchased over the years, as well as a large number of public-domain books. On this trip, I finished "The Innocence of Father Brown" by G.K. Chesterton, and am about half-way through "Far From the Madding Crowd" by Thomas Hardy. Both are quite a departure from the programming or SF books I usually read, but an interesting alternative.
Oh, and I also managed to update all the Rails-related software versions on my Tablet PC.
