I returned late Wednesday from Lotusphere 2009. It was a fairly quiet event, with attendence down somewhat form last year. My sense was that there were fewer Europeans, but a good turnout from the Americas.
I didn't attend any of the sessions (except part of the Opening General Session) as I was staffing the iEnterprises/KSI trade show booth. Traffic on the show floor seemed quieter and more sparse than last year. We were located near the book store, which clearly wasn't as popular an area as near the doors where we were last year.
IBM had a number of announcements, including changing the "Bluehouse" product into "LotusLive". This is a SaaS product with links to a variety of other suppliers, such as LinkedIn, Skype, and eventually a wide variety of others. Lotus Notes will of course receive updates with new capabilities, of which XPages seems the most interesting. I'm looking forward to learning more about it.
