Easter Seals Telethon 2009

Telethon2009.jpg

Another full and tiring weekend, another goal met. The Telethon this year was much shorter, but still raised a bit more than the goal. We were on air for only 6 hours on Sunday, and it felt like more than 2 days' worth of activity was all crammed into that short time. The food area was busy non-stop. I have no idea how many cups of coffee were served, or how many hot dogs and pancakes kept people going.

Jayne and Bob did an amazing organisational job again. The whole food operation was "flawless", as Bob said. There were enough volunteers, with several younger ones who were a real inspiration with their non-stop enthusiasm and energy. Unlike some previous years, I didn't hear any complaints about the food, the preparation, or for that matter, anything. I got the impression that everyone was more focussed on making things work well and smoothly.

Two of the highlights for me this year were meeting Luba Goy of Air Farce, and Michael Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster on Coronation Street.
