Some time ago, Jayne had refinished an old side table that's been in her family for almost a century. Under many layers of paint, it turned out to be made of Walnut. She asked me if I could make a matching one.
A couple of weeks ago I ran several walnut boards through the thickness planer and then cut them to size. Today I dressed the edges of the pieces for the top and glued them together. Over the next few weeks I will do the same with the legs, then cut out the leg patterns. The final assembly should be fairly straighforward, as the original didn't use any exotic joints.
