It's been a busy couple of weeks. Two weekends ago was the Ultralight Pilots Association of Canada convention and AGM. There was a record turnout, partly due to the very fine weather, partly because ultralights are more popular than ever. This being the 100th anniversary of powered aviation in Canada, one of the major displays was a full-scale replica of the Silver Dart. This aeroplane has flown several times, and appeared at air shows all over North America, including Oshkosh.
It's also the 25th anniversary of the Lazair, one of the first modern ultralights, and tremendously influential. Dale Kramer, the original developer, was at the convention, as were a wide variety of Lazairs.
From the convention, I drove to Mont Orford Quebec. I stayed at l'Auberge du Centre d'arts Orford. I was doing an iExtensions implementation for a manufacturing company in nearby Magog. It was a pleasant and full week. I'll be going back in two weeks to tidy up a single loose end.
This coming week I will be doing another iExtensions implementation in Edmonton. I hope to have some time to explore Edmonton, where I've only been once, and that was over 20 years ago.
